Palate Sensations Reaffirms Commitment to Safety

Following recent concerns raised by a fire incident at River Valley, Palate Sensations Culinary School would like to reassure all participants of our unwavering dedication to safety and our robust fire evacuation protocols.

Since our founding in 2005, Palate Sensations has been dedicated to offering not just exceptional culinary experiences but also a safe and secure environment for all participants, whether they are aspiring chefs or culinary enthusiasts.

A Commitment to Rigorous Fire and Safety Standards

Located at the Chromos building in Biopolis, owned by JTC, we are proud to strictly adhere to regulated safety measures and additional protocols to ensure the wellbeing of everyone who walks through our doors.

Below is an overview of our safety and fire-evacuation measures:

  • Emergency Evacuation Protocols: Our building has an Emergency Response Plan in place, supported by six trained team members ready to act as soon as the fire alarm is triggered. Building-wide fire evacuation drills are conducted twice a year.
  • Accessibility and Exits: Our culinary studio is conveniently located on the ground floor and features two well-lit, clearly marked emergency exits. Before the start of every class/event, a safety briefing is conducted letting our participants know where all the exits and the subsequent rendezvous point is.
  • Advanced Fire-Safety Infrastructure:
    • A sprinkler system, a monitored safety alarm bell and a public address system are installed throughout the building and are maintained on a monthly basis by the building management.
    • 7 clearly marked fire extinguishers are located throughout the studio and receive annual professional maintenance.
  • First Aid and Emergency Preparedness:
    • Our team is trained in first aid, and we maintain a comprehensive first aid kit on-site. An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) is also available just 30 metres from our studio, at the building lobby on the same floor.
  • Comfortable, Minimal-Risk Cooking Equipment:
    • To reduce hazards, our studio uses modern induction stoves, minimising the use of open flames during classes.

Ensuring Peace of Mind for All Participants

“Safety goes beyond regulations—it’s our responsibility to create an environment where participants feel truly at ease and can focus on enjoying their culinary experience,” says Lynette Foo, Chef Owner at Palate Sensations.

From hosting team-building workshops to training aspiring chefs, our studio provides a welcoming and secure space that allows creativity and learning to take centre stage.
