Time flies! 2017 is about to be over in the blink of an eye.
The year started off with a BANG and we have been busy all year. We welcomed more than 6000 participants over the course of 550 events and classes. Highlights included 225 SkillsFuture classes, 166 corporate classes, 108 private classes, hosting World Kitchen for the Cook with Love competition, and Kitchen Aid for the launch of their mini mixer. Some of our most memorable moments included participating in our sponsor Brandt's launch of their new products and hosting events such as Food Bank's left over food competition which brought up the issue of food waste, and welcoming 20 underprivileged kids for our December Junior Culinary Bootcamp.
We are elated to announce that we have more than 60 SkillsFuture programs approved and running in 2017 compared to 27 in 2016. This exciting news also led us to purchase our very own Carpigiani gelato machine, allowing us to hold our very first SkillsFuture gelato making class back in November.
We were privileged to host numerous professional chefs & restaurant owners from around the world (Philippines, Pakistan, Myanmar, US) who came to learn various culinary and baking skills and techniques from our team of chefs.
With that said, it was also a record year for tourist visitors! Well, we lost count on the number of times we were spotted at Tiong Bahru Market leading tours before proceeding back to the studio to cook up a storm...even the market stall owners started to recognise us! All this wouldn't have been possible without all our fabulous participants! Thank you to all our staff, our wonderful chef team and guest chefs for making our year such a rich, rewarding and memorable one.
We can't wait for 2018 and we have many great things planned which we will reveal soon in our January 2018 newsletter.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Stay safe and take good care during this jolly season!
Lots of love and happiness from all of us here at Palate Sensations.
