The traditional pretzel shape is a distinctive symmetrical form, with the ends of a long strip of dough intertwined and then twisted back onto itself in a particular way (a pretzel loop).

The bagel, a popular American breakfast bread, utilises a unique cooking method of boiling the dough, then baking.

Understand the techniques behind creating these two breads, and learn how to make different variations.
