Festive Class: Chinese New Year Pineapple Tarts Two Ways
Crumbly, melt in your mouth textured pastry made with butter and a deep flavoured pineapple tart jam that has a balance between sweetness and acidity.
This is an iconic greeting that sits on every Chinese New Year cookie platter. Making these pineapple tarts yourself is easy as it doesn't require much equipment while producing a quality that can't be found in retail shops.
We will make 2 kinds of designs, an open faced tart with a ball of jam sitting on top of the pastry and another with the jam enclosed in a sphere of pastry.
We aim to make both the jam and the pastry and use different types of moulds available during the class.
