Zul Rahman

Zul’s passion for service got him started in this hospitality industry where he feels that service should come from the heart. When he first started working in this line, he finds that he could do more than just service to the guests. Thus, he decided to pick up courses to upgrade himself and conduct training for his colleagues and peers so as to set a good service standard.

However, he realized that he was lacking in the aspects of beverage knowledge. Therefore, upon ending his work at the restaurant, he began picking up courses in beverages and started from scratch by becoming a bar back, to learn the basics and fundamentals of bartending. He never looked back since then.

He went on to upgrade himself from time to time through courses, talks, seminars and competitions. He has worked at various establishments such as Rainforest Café, Indochine and the Grand Hyatt. Presently, he is a Bar Supervisor at Flutes at the Fort where service is of top priority.

Zul feels that there’s a lot more that needs to be learnt and he believes in learning something everyday from anyone. “Knowledge is gained from one another.” Besides being knowledgeable in cocktail mixing and bartending skills, he has always had the passion to teach. With his expertise in bartending, he would like to share his knowledge on mixology to individuals who would like to discover the secrets to mixing and creating cocktails.

 “Observe, imagine, visualize and create”, that is how a cocktail is made. The only thing left is to balance the cocktail and enjoy it.
