Six in the Kitchen

Looking for something else to do on your night out with friends instead of the same-old movie and clubbing nights? Here’s our recommendation for an event better idea that promises to be a memorable evening:

  • Step 1 - Grab 6 friends (or more).
  • Step 2 - Choose a cuisine and tell us what you like to eat.
  • Step 3 - Choose a date and time.
  • Step 4 - Turn up at Palate Sensations, put on your apron, grab a recipe, cook and dine.

Six in the Kitchen is all about having fun while cooking, wining and dining with your friends, both old and new. We promise you a good time of fun at your very own tailor-made hands on class, regardless of your experience in the kitchen. As all the necessary ingredients will be bought and prepared for you, all you need to do is to roll up your sleeves and get ready for a fabulous meal! If you’re a novice, don’t worry, the chef will be there to lead the way; if you’re a seasoned cook, here’s your chance to make a mess in someone else’s kitchen, without worrying about cleaning up! We leave it up to you if you prefer to get in on the action or if you’d prefer to have our chefs show you how it’s done. Procrastinate no further and make a date with us!

Host a Murder Dinner Party

Planning a dinner party for at least eight friends, but want something that’s more engaging while not compromising on the quality of the dinner? We have just the right party for you! Host a Murder Dinner Party sees at least eight participants solve a murder mystery over a four course dinner. Choose between a game set in eighth century China during the autumn moon festival, or a high school reunion for the class of 1954, and have your participants come dressed in their characters - and stay in character - throughout the four-hour four-course dinner. The dinner menu will draw inspirations from the theme, so if you choose the Chinese theme, we’ll whip up a Chinese meal for you, and you can expect an American meal for the high-school reunion. Both meals can also be customised to suit our Muslim friends!

During each course, each character will reveal some information about themselves from their character booklet provided, whether defending themselves by deflecting questions asked by other characters, or spicing up the game by pointing fingers to accuse other characters. At the end of the dinner, everyone guesses who the murderer is. While no acting is required, role playing is a must! Priced at an affordable nett per person, this includes a complimentary welcome drink. You can also bring you own drinks - we don’t charge any corkage!

Dining and Social Etiquette

Impressions are always important, and it counts even more when you’re at a dinner table. Using the wrong utensils for the wrong course or dish could be a grave mistake, and even more so when you’re at a business dinner - you don’t want to lose that important deal just because you licked a knife! And if you’re looking for a dinner party that will have you leave with more than a full stomach, then sign up for our Dining and Social Etiquette class. Together with six friends, this fun, innovative and hands-on workshop will equip you with the best table manners applicable for any social setting, whether formal or informal.

With our class, you’ll never have to wonder which utensils or wine glasses to use or start with, how to excuse yourself halfway through dinner gracefully, how to place your utensils after each course; bid farewell to the old you who always waited to see what others did at the table before you followed suit! We also encourage you to ask as many questions you have when going through the class, especially those that you’ve never dared to ask, or had no one to ask! Fee includes written notes on topics and pointers discussed during the three-course meal, a glass of wine and champagne.
