The Face of Senso
General Manager of Senso Ristorante & Bar, Ivan Haller, hails from Terlano, a small winemaking village in North Italy. He brings many years of experience in the service industry, and a vineyard-full of wine knowledge to Senso.
His interest in the F&B industry started early. At a tender age of 15, he chose to attend the nominated Hotel and Tourism School, Kaiserhof in Merano, where, he was tirelessly trained in the business of running upmarket restaurants and swanky hotels. It was here that his passion for wines started to develop and take flight. It took him to the famous Ristorante Santabbondio in Lugano where he had formal sommelier training.
At the end of his education, he moved to work as a restaurant manager in the 2 Michelin stars restaurant St. Hubertus in San Cassiano in Badia, which is located just under the beauty of the Dolomites. After holding the position for almost 2 years, he moved to the Four Seasons Resort in Egypt and was in charge first of the Italian fine dining restaurant “Il Frantoio”, than promoted to Restaurants Manager of the resort. It was there where he met Lamine Guendil, one of the 2 owners of Senso, who was blown away by Ivan’s hospitality. He was immediately made an offer he could not refuse.
As General Manager of Senso, Ivan displayed such a keen interest and a natural talent for organizing and hosting events and themed parties, his name quickly became synonymous with successful events.
Today, he greets every guest that walks in with a smile so genuine, in a demeanor so charming and armed with a knowledge so overwhelming, that he makes up a big part of the reason we see repeat customers at Senso.
